PARALLEL BATTERY PACK OPERATION

I met Red Scholefield a few years ago on the rec.models.rc.air newsgroup. I had just lost a beautiful ¼ Scale Cessna 182 to a switch failure. At the time I was experience defecient and wasn't sure how that could happen, or how to prevent it from happening again. I posted the question to the news group and immediatly got a reply from Red. As it turns out, I had done quite a few things wrong in that radio installation, not the least of which was not using parallel battery packs/switches. Red has been kind enough to allow me to re-post the article here so that some of you may be spared a similar fate. More information about Ni-Cad batteries and their care can be found on Red's website. Submitted by Jim Hansen
